Maponos Manufacturing – Terms & Conditions
Maponos Manufacturing is an impartial service provider. We have no involvement, interest, or bearing in any competition or rivalry between our clients. Our role is to provide high-quality manufacturing and design services to all clients equally.
1. Design Ownership
All designs created by Maponos Manufacturing, whether developed in-house or under a paid design agreement, are and remain the sole intellectual property of Maponos Manufacturing.
Where a design fee is charged, this fee covers time, labour, technical expertise, CAD work, and CNC programming, and does not constitute a transfer of ownership or intellectual property rights.
Client input, preferences, functional requirements, or directional requests (including but not limited to layout suggestions, structural features, dimensional constraints, or stylistic guidance) are considered part of the design brief only and do not give rise to any ownership, authorship, or intellectual property rights in the resulting design.
The interpretation, execution, and technical realisation of any design remains the work of Maponos Manufacturing, regardless of client direction or approval at any stage.
2. Use Across Clients
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Maponos Manufacturing reserves the right to use, adapt, modify, or reproduce any designs it creates with any client for use with other clients or projects.
3. Design Exclusivity
Design exclusivity is not included by default.
Exclusive or client-specific design rights may be agreed only in writing and may be subject to additional fees, reflecting the restriction on reuse and future commercial value of the design.
Unless such an agreement is made in writing, all designs remain non-exclusive and may be reused by Maponos Manufacturing in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
4. Third-Party Reproduction
Designs created by Maponos Manufacturing may not be replicated, reproduced, reverse-engineered, or manufactured by any third party without our express written permission. Requests for permission will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
5. Client-Supplied Intellectual Property
Any intellectual property, designs, drawings, specifications, measurements, files, or other materials supplied by the client remain the sole property of the client.
By supplying such materials, the client confirms they have the legal right to use and authorise Maponos Manufacturing to work with them. Maponos Manufacturing accepts no liability for any infringement arising from client-supplied intellectual property.
6. Right to Advertise
Maponos Manufacturing retains the right to photograph, display, and advertise any products we have designed or manufactured, through any medium, for marketing, portfolio, or promotional purposes.
We respect the confidentiality of unreleased products. Clients must notify us in good time of any embargo, NDA, or secrecy requirements so that advertising or public display can be suspended until the product is officially released.
7. Turnaround Times
Our standard turnaround time is 3–6 weeks, depending on workload, project complexity, and material availability.
Rush jobs may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis and will incur additional charges. Acceptance of a rush job is not guaranteed.
8. Pricing Structure (Standardised & Bespoke Work)
Maponos Manufacturing maintains a standardised product list, which includes (but is not limited to):
Microphone blocks
Drawer inserts
Logo designs
Previously developed protective equipment case insert designs (Peli-style or equivalent)
This standardised price list is non-negotiable and is applied consistently and equally to all clients, without exception. This ensures fairness, transparency, and impartiality across all projects.
The standardised price list is available upon request.
Bespoke items are quoted individually. As a guideline:
Most one-off bespoke protective equipment case insert projects start at £250 (day rate) + materials for design and manufacture.
Final costs frequently exceed this starting figure due to design development, CAD modelling, and CNC programming time.
9. Deposits
For all orders exceeding £500, a deposit is required prior to commencement. This deposit covers the cost of materials and secures production time.
10. Payment Terms & Removal of On-Account Payments
With effect from 01/02/2026, Maponos Manufacturing will no longer offer on-account payment terms.
All invoices must be paid in full prior to goods leaving Maponos Manufacturing’s premises. This applies to all clients, without exception.
Payment confirmation must be received before collection or dispatch of any items. Delays in payment may result in corresponding delays to the release or shipment of goods.
Ownership of goods does not transfer until payment has been received in full.
11. Design Revisions & Incorrect Information
If incorrect, incomplete, or inaccurate information is supplied by the client and design work has already commenced, any required redesign, reprogramming, or additional work will be chargeable.
12. Protective Case Specification Service
Maponos Manufacturing offers a service to determine or recommend the appropriate make and model of protective equipment case suitable for a project.
This service is charged at a fixed fee of £35, covering specification time and professional expertise, and is payable regardless of whether the client proceeds with the job.
13. Transit & Insurance
Maponos Manufacturing accepts no responsibility or liability for products in transit to or from our premises. All risk during transportation—including loss, theft, or damage—remains with the client.
If insurance is required, it is the client’s sole responsibility to request and arrange appropriate cover prior to shipment.
14. Legal Basis
These Terms & Conditions are supported under the United Kingdom Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA 1988) and, where applicable, the Registered Designs Act 1949.
In summary:
Copyright protects original artistic works, including product designs.
Design right (automatic or registered) protects the shape, configuration, and appearance of a product.
Any unauthorised reproduction of Maponos Manufacturing designs constitutes infringement and may result in legal action.
15. Trademark & Brand Disclaimer
Any references to “Peli-style” or similar terminology are used descriptively only and do not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or manufacture for any specific brand or trademark holder.
16. Distribution, Historic Dealings & Ongoing Applicability of Terms
These Terms & Conditions formalise and consolidate Maponos Manufacturing’s standard working practices, many of which have been in effect prior to their formal issuance.
These Terms & Conditions will be issued to the client with the first order placed following their implementation. Where consistent with previous agreements, quotations, or established course of dealing, these Terms & Conditions also apply to all prior and ongoing work carried out by Maponos Manufacturing.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that these Terms & Conditions are communicated internally to all relevant departments, personnel, or representatives responsible for placing orders.
All subsequent orders placed by the client will automatically be subject to these Terms & Conditions, whether or not they are reissued, unless otherwise agreed in writing by an authorised representative of Maponos Manufacturing.
17. Acceptance of Terms
By placing an order with Maponos Manufacturing, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
These terms apply to all orders unless otherwise agreed in writing by an authorised representative of Maponos Manufacturing.
